Tuesday prompt for December 12

Who is the oldest person in your life?

I know others who are physically older but not well, my grandmother however is the oldest at heart.  At 80 she is the same age as our very active neighbor, and though my grandmother is still physically active–she walks several miles daily, her heart is old and careworn.  My grandfather passed away 2 years ago and he was the youngest old man I had ever met, he kept her young.  And since his passing she has steadily gone down hill.

The drawing is not an accurate one, the only thing I really recognize in it is her left eye–it is very, very right and very, very her.  The rest is all just an impression of sorts.

Tuesday Prompt: First thing you see

This week’s Tuesday prompt is: Walk outside, what is the first thing you see?

You can write about it, draw it, photograph it, imagine it, whatever as long as you have fun.

In our case, when you walk out onto our front porch the very first thing you see is a tree.  A large, carpenter ant infested sugar maple to be exact.  One that sits directly in front of our front porch, symmetric to the one the previous owners planted directly in front of the back porch, and parallel to the ones they planted at each corner of the house.

Being that it is rather dark outside and I can’t see a thing if I look out I thought I would use a previous doodle for this week. 🙂  (And yes, the ear infection seems to be mostly gone –Buried Treasure ACF plus an occasional drop of peroxide in the ear seems to have done the trick.)

You can find the list of prompts here if you want to take part next week.

Tuesday Prompts

The goal of Tuesday prompts is to force myself to be creative even when I don’t feel like it.  You can join in too, regardless of your creative media–in other words you can use the prompt to write about it, poet-icize it, draw it, sculpt it, photograph it, whatever your fancy.

I figure there are 52 weeks in a year, so that is 52 Tuesdays to get creative.    I am listing the prompts now (through the new year–if it goes well and continues I will add more later) so if you like to work ahead you can or if you prefer to wait till the last minute you can, whatever.  Some of the prompts are serious, some of them are silly, some of them are impossible.  The point is, get creative.  The prompts start NEXT Tuesday with:

Walk in the next room, look at the tallest thing there, what is under it?

You can write about it, paint it, doodle it, sculpt it, write a poem about it, whatever suits your fancy–the goal here is not to be flummoxed by it but to get creative and inspired.  Take it how ever you like, do it or imagine it, whatever you do, have fun with it.
