Sunday Praise Doodle: Psalm 104

A side note: the following was sketched out while watching the kids play in the pond today.  The sheer joy and peace they had was heartening and brought to mind Psalm 104 and its wonderful story of God’s absolute provision.  I only share a portion of it here, the rest can be found here.

10 He makes springs pour water into the ravines;  it flows between the mountains.

11 They give water to all the beasts of the field;  the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12 The birds of the air nest by the waters;  they sing among the branches.

13 He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;  the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

14 He makes grass grow for the cattle,  and plants for man to cultivate—  bringing forth food from the earth:

15 wine that gladdens the heart of man,  oil to make his face shine,  and bread that sustains his heart.

16 The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

17 There the birds make their nests;  the stork has its home in the pine trees.

18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats;  the crags are a refuge for the coneys. [b]

19 The moon marks off the seasons,  and the sun knows when to go down.

20 You bring darkness, it becomes night,  and all the beasts of the forest prowl.

21 The lions roar for their prey  and seek their food from God.

22 The sun rises, and they steal away;   they return and lie down in their dens.

23 Then man goes out to his work,   to his labor until evening.

24 How many are your works, O LORD!   In wisdom you made them all;

the earth is full of your creatures.

25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,  teeming with creatures beyond number—   living things both large and small.

26 There the ships go to and fro,  and the leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.

27 These all look to you  to give them their food at the proper time.

28 When you give it to them,  they gather it up;  when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.

One Sad Bunny

A while ago I did a portrait with a little girl who was holding a bunny.  I guess that little bunny got a hold on me because I noticed that he showed up in another recent painting and now he got one all to himself.  I had planned to have him sitting there all alone but  somehow he looked so downtrodden and sad sitting there that I decide he needed some cheering up and gave him some tea party things and a paper crown. It doesn’t seem to have made much difference.  Poor thing.  I honestly don’t think anything would cheer him.

Illustration Friday : Wide

A test run for a possible illustration later on.  This is much wider and more filled in than anything I have done up until now (unless you count the unicorn in a field of flowers that I did for a contest when I was in 4th grade and which got passed over for a prize because another kids mother was the judge of the contest and she picked HER child’s art.  Stupid art contest. ;P)  This isn’t exactly what I am going for but it gave me an idea of what I could accomplish if I went this direction.

More IF’s at Illustration Friday.

Finished

Well, almost.  A few tweaks here and there and need to fix somethings that turn up wrong in older versions of Firefox (the tabs look funny in some but I think if I take time I can fix that–though after 4 days of fighting with this thing and even more designing it I am wiped out.)

In general the theme is done and all the sites are combined.  The rss feeds are seperate so if you have a site on my server then you will want to subscribe to the feed for Graced Designs as that is where I will post system updates and mainanence information (it is now on a different server than msot of the sites so if they are down it should not be (unles the building has a power outage since the companies are in the same building.)

If you are interested in my artwork or Doodles for Hire then I suggest you hop over to Elasah.com which is now my art site.  I will be posting new paintings and doodles there (though I will still occasionally post them here if they suit the post and may make a note when I post a new one there.)  I will be officially announcing Doodle for Hire once I get a bit of a portfolio together with some more generic stuff but for now you can check out the basic information here.

In the future I will likely be doing some tutorials and some art lesson type posts (have had several friends requests lessons geared towards children so that is, I think, where I will start).  I already have some basic design tutorials up over at Graced Designs and plan to do some on CSS later.  (There are still some broken links over there but the tabs across the top are all good.  Have been moving so much around that things have gotten crazy.

If you are reading this then you likely already subscribe to the feed for Untraditional Home and that hasn’t changed.  Oh, and I will try to keep this part of the site to an nice mix of the same stuff as before with an occasional nod at the other two sites.
