A Day in the Life 6: The Snow Fort
It is still a work in progress. The kids have been working on it over the last few, very cold days. Today it was warmer but we got lots of snow–now Rachel is out there building it up more so she can add a sled roof.
The hobbit-like door was pretty cute and now everything is covered in a carpet of white. (These pictures were taken yesterday when it was 7 degrees outside. Brr.)
I like the new site! We had snow several days ago, and this is exactly what my kids were busy with. We didn’t have enough snow for them to build the walls very high, but in their little imaginations, they had quite a fortress.
It’s been in the 30’s here … MUCH too cold for me!!!!!!! I like the forty’s or fifty’s … but this has dipped below my comfort zone 🙂
Cool fort, though! And I love the hobbit door, too 🙂
Of the few good memories I have one of them is living in Alaska and building snow forts. It was one of the most awesome times in my life. It allowed me to ‘live’ somewhere other than where I was really living. It was so much fun!! I also loved building pine needle forts when we lived in North Carolina. I do believe this is a post waiting to be written…thank you.
I don’t know what happened but I must not have added your new site to my bloglines. I will fix that.
We had a lot of fun with our snow too, although we had far less of it. A fort would have been fun and certainly looks fun in the pictures.
